Investing in Healthcare Recruiting: Risks and Opportunities

Hospitals and healthcare are definitely on the reliable growth pace. Current industry trend is really reverse to what you would expect, being new to this sector – this is shortage of nurses and medical professionals, meaning that it is rather challenge to find certified applicants, and not really to get new contracts from healthcare organizations. This trends requires the investors to look at healthcare staffing agency from the perspective of its popularity among nurses community – getting nurses opinions on which company is “better” – in the senses of being more friendly, offering better conditions, including faster paychecks issuance. As medical staffing companies actually sells services in the form of recruiting fees, plus W2 services to their medical temps – you should feel the nature of the risks and the opportunities: they are at the management experience, passion and competence side, not in real material assets, such as plants, production tools or even buildings. Let’s try to see the pro and contra arguments:

1. Economy Cycles: Booms and Recessions – healthcare is always in demand, so it should be considered stable and not really exposed to economy cycling. This statement might be considered as a trend, however some companies will suffer from bad economy, but in our opinion mostly due to the recession “atmosphere”

2. US population “aging” – this is similar to what was long times seen in Europe and Japan, where immigration offset (or even new young immigrants inflow reversed the aging process) was not as active as in United States. Senior population requires more medicine attention and potentially will increase the workload for healthcare staffing organizations, who supply hospitals, nursing homes and retirement communities with nurses and medical doctors

Health Insurance: Health Savings Account

Health insurance is a critical part of our health care system. For those that are lucky enough to have health insurance, they know that it shouldn’t be taken for granted. For a large number of the unfortunate who don’t have health insurance for their families, do so at great risks.

Health insurance has long been a popular political subject for our country. There are many that fill health insurance should be socialized. There are just as many feel it should be kept private. While both parties may have sound arguments, we have to accept what is available to us. So, unless you’re a government employee, or one of the dwindling corporate employees still receiving health insurance, you need to go out there and get it on your own.

There are a number of health insurance choices that should suit your specific needs. A Health Maintenance Organization, or more commonly called HMO, is one popular health insurance choice. HMOs are one of the most common forms of health insurance provided by employers. They allow you to visit a pre-selected hospital, doctors, or clinics, without restriction. This may or may not be totally covered by your employer, but usually comes at a fixed monthly cost.

The Preferred Provider Organization, or the PPO, is similar to the HMO concept. With the PPO, you are not forced to get a little dig their doctor or hospital. When you do, however, you receive a discount for doing so. This system works on the reimbursement, philosophy. Essentially, you are reimbursed by your insurance company after services are rendered. Sometimes, they will bill your insurer at the time of service.

The Importance of Pursuing Mental Health Integration

Why Pursue Mental Health Integration?

It is the right thing to do: The NCCBH vision statement provides the foundation for our work: We are committed to creating and sustaining healthy and secure communities, achieved through a system that holds the needs of consumers paramount, regardless of their ability to pay.

Vital to this commitment is a network of organizations and advocates promoting services of unparalleled value.

NCCBH members primarily serve public sector consumers, those with severe and persistent mental illness or serious emotional disturbance-the needs of this population are often overlooked in primary care and integration planning. We must assure that their needs as well as the needs of the broader community are appropriately addressed.

Healthcare Headache Or Improvement Opportunity?

Lean Six Sigma:

Whipping Healthcare Into Shape

Healthcare Headache or Improvement Opportunity?

As we move forward, the healthcare industry will be serving a double edged sword, and in an effort to reduce or eliminate the pain, the MAGNUMUS need for process improvement and quality metrics is ESSENTIAL. Specifically in these times it is necessary to eliminate non-value added items. Times are tough for all, and to reduce waste is paramount.

As the baby boom generation ages, the US will see the majority of its population in their senior years. Adding to the already short supply of medical professionals, the increasing services that will be needed, if not already overwhelming, will be out of control. To add to that, President Obama’s Healthcare plan, which is an overall positive effort to improve quality, will unfortunately increase regulation, policies, and constraints on the industry.  Thus, causing another dramatic financial burden on all facilities.

Start-up Health Products Business

Public Health is the science and art of preventing disease, prolonging life and promoting  health through the organized efforts and informed choices of society, organizations, public and private communities and individuals. However, as individuals we must take an active role in maintaining our health by leading healthy lifestyles and making sure that we are using proper nutrition daily.

Nutrition is the science that studies how people eat and how eating affects their health and performance. This includes foods or food components that cause diseases or deteriorate health such as eating too many calories. This is a major contributing factor to obesity, diabetes and heart disease. Personal health depends partially on the social structure of one’s life.

Healthy eating is a choice but not much of a choice for those who simply lack the knowledge, awareness and clear understanding about healthy cooking. Health is a positive concept emphasizing social and personal resources as well as physical capacities. Health represents the amount of damage a character can take before death.

Healthcare In Spain

Healthcare In Spain

Whenever we think of healthcare in a foreign land, we immediately think, will it be expensive and of the same quality as what we are used to? In fact, the quality of healthcare in Spain is excellent and many doctors and nurses speak English.

The health service is run along a two-tier system similar to that in the UK. The first tier is the National Health Service and the second is the private health care sector, which is covered by health insurance. Whether you are a native of Spain or a British citizen, if you are making social security contributions then you immediately qualify for the National Health Service. Otherwise, it is best to have some kind of private health insurance. We have personally experienced both sides of the Spanish healthcare system.

Private Health Care
When we first moved to Spain, we had very little experience of the lifestyle and that included provision for healthcare. As we were both reasonably healthy and because our knowledge of the language was still limited, we were somewhat scared of approaching social security offices and medical centres to gain more information, putting it off for another day.
However, with the rise in older men developing problems with their prostrate and my awareness of prostrate cancer, I decided I needed to see a doctor for a check up. Not being eligible for the Spanish health service at the time meant I had to go private. I had this dreaded feeling that this is going to cost a fortune. Not necessarily so.

The couple that we rented our villa from in Mojacar recommended an English speaking lady doctor in Garrucha and we found to our surprise her fee was only 40 euros per consultation. On my first visit, all my details were entered into the computer and then a comprehensive examination was done including arrangements for a blood test.

A Health Savings Account or Hsa Medical Plan Offers Significant Tax, Premium, & Retirement Savings

A Health Savings Account or Hsa Medical Plan Offers Significant Tax, Premium, & Retirement Savings

Since first being signed into law in December 2003 by the Federal Government, Health Savings Account plans (a.k.a. HSA medical insurance plans) are already a proven success & the number of people switching to HSAs from traditional health plans is growing greatly each year.  HSAs are here to stay & a few million have already come on board.  Health Savings Accounts are literally available today to any person over 18 in the U.S.  They offer significant financial benefits including tax, premium, & retirement savings to you, your family, and/or your business.  Knowledge is real power when it comes to your finances. Become informed.  I advise people not miss out on the extraordinary short & long term benefits that HSAs create.

Medical Insurance is the newest form of an investment vehicle.  Today, having an HSA qualified health insurance policy (component #1 – the health insurance policy) together with a Health Savings Account (component #2 – the savings account) is a very wise decision.  First off, from this point forward, we’ll refer to the two components just discussed above as one single entity, either a Health Savings Account, HSA, or HSA Health Savings Plan.  They all mean exactly the same thing.

HSA health savings plans are actually simple to understand.

Is Private Healthcare Right for You?

Is Private Healthcare Right for You?

You may well have asked yourself the question, do I need private healthcare? After all, there is always the National Health Service and you already pay for that with your national insurance. Well, of course, this is correct and we all have access to the NHS but with long waiting lists and reports of some hospitals having less than great reputations for service and hygiene, perhaps it’s now worth taking a look at private medical insurance.

Private healthcare ensures that your health is a priority and that you will be seen as quickly as possible. You will be seen in pleasant, comfortable surroundings that have a more personal touch to them. This helps alleviate that faceless feeling that can often be found in hospitals where large volumes of people, means that unfortunately, medical staff only have a certain amount of time to spend with each patient so appointments can sometimes seem rushed.

When you are ill the last thing you want is to have to wait in a lengthy queue. It may be that you require specialist treatment or medication that is not available on the NHS or in some cases is too expensive for your health trust. Private healthcare alleviates these problems by ensuring that you are seen promptly and that any necessary treatment covered under your policy is available to you.
