An individual health insurance cover, simply stated, is an agreement between you and the insurance firm, aimed at protecting you against any financial constraints on account of a medical emergency. The one pertinent question you need to ask yourself is -what are the factors to be analyzed before deciding on an individual health insurance policy?
It is indeed a fact that medical and preventive sciences have made rapid advancements in today’s world. Nonetheless, it would be prudent to arm yourself with the best individual health insurance cover to protect yourself against any unforeseen illness. Indeed, America’s best health insurance companies are vying with one another in putting together some of the most imaginative individual health insurance policies designed to overcome any medical contingency. If you are unemployed, or self-employed, an individual health insurance policy is the right choice.
Consult with your insurance company if you can have your individual health insurance policy incorporated in its group policy. You may be paying a higher rate but the terms would be more advantageous than if you had to buy your own individual health insurance policy. If you are married, find out if your spouse’s employer is willing to include you in its group policy. If you are left with no option, then it is wise to buy an individual health insurance policy. Even though the insurance cover may be limited and the rates high, you would still be ensuring protection for yourself or your family against financial problems if you are suddenly confronted with a serious illness or medical emergency. Search for a good health insurance professional to help you with the best individual health insurance policy that offers you good value for money.

MEDICAL / HEALTH INTERNSHIP IN NEPAL/ MEDICAL ELECTIVES IN NEPAL
Volunteer Society Nepal aims to mobilize medical students and volunteers with health backgrounds in rural places where people do not have access to any health institutes, as the government is not able to provide adequate health services. On the other hand, rural Nepali people are often reluctant to go to the hospital and other modern health services because of orthodox thinking, superstition and other cultural influences. Some of the Nepali people may visit a witchdoctor when they are suffering from an illness. Therefore, it is possible that they die without getting the benefit of modern medication. VSN is playing an active role in linking people in rural areas with volunteers from the west and health volunteers within the country who are really eager to serve the many unprivileged people in Nepal.
Volunteers will mainly be involved in following three activities:-
(1) Working in the Health Post/ Clinic/ Hospital in Nepal Medical/ Premedical students will be assigned to clinics, sub-health posts, hospitals and other health institutions. These are either run by the government or a local community in both rural and urban settings. Health students will work with health assistants, doctors, nurses or some combination within. Your daily work will include helping to perform the health staffs’ job. It will also involve researches of common diseases and health issues. Students will get the opportunity to learn about the basic medication system in Nepal. The work will be daily, 3 to 5 hours, 6 days a week.

When comparing health insurance quotes, make sure you are comparing similar plans. Health insurance comes in two basic forms – indemnity plans and managed care plans. Both indemnity and managed care health insurance are further broken down into several different types of health insurance so it is important to take the time and compare health insurance plans to determine what best fits your health care needs.
Indemnity Health Insurance
Indemnity health plans put you in charge of choosing your doctors, hospitals and other health care providers. You pay a set monthly premium and your health insurance pays your medical care, often after you pay a deductible and possibly a percentage of the bill.

The field of medicine has made impressive advancements both in the diagnosis and treatment of most diseases. But, the soaring prices of health insurance plans make it difficult for low-income wage earners. They claim that getting a health insurance policy is out of their reach.
However, health insurance has been made mandatory by law in California. The need for health insurance both for families and individuals is critical as health insurance provides timely financial security to the insured during sudden medical emergencies. The state of California has a plethora of health insurance companies engaged in fierce competition to provide quality service to its customers. As a result the consumers are the beneficiaries as they can obtain the best plans at the most affordable prices.
Every state in the U.S. has its own health insurance regulatory board to oversee and regulate the practices of insurance providers within their jurisdiction. In the state of California, they aim to provide affordable health insurance outreach programs particularly to medium and low income wage earners. Health insurance laws in California are rigidly enforced.
The Medicaid program was created specifically for low wage earners in California to provide affordable health insurance coverage to the maximum number of uninsured individuals. This insurance outreach program is funded by both the federal and the state governments. There is yet another advantage as some employers do not include the families of employees in their insurance coverage. Such employees can avail of the Medicaid program if they want to include their families in their insurance coverage. Applicants are required to furnish some documents that may include proofs of their employment and income. They will also be subjected to a credit check to qualify.

As much as 75% of surgery is now performed on an outpatient basis. The convenience factor of having medical services available close to home is becoming more and more important, as well as expected.

Ear Surgery is a type of cosmetic ear surgery that corrects prominent or misshaped ears, sometimes called ‘bat ears.’ Ears an obvious feature of the face and head that others notice when they look at us, and ears that stick out can be the strike of many cruel jokes. Children with protruding ears are particularly prone to bullying. Ear Surgery such as to make a hole in the ear drum, is a common surgery. It is typically paired with the insertion of a typanostomy tube, a tiny tube that is placed in the recently created hole in the ear drum, which allows infectious material to drain from the middle ear. The procedure is performed by an otolaryngologist, also known as an ear, nose and throat physician. Many parents go for for their child to undergo ear correction surgery at an early age. Most aesthetic plastic surgery operations of this type are performed on young people under fourteen, but it is advisable to wait until the child is at least five years old before considering this option. By this time the ears are their full size and the cartilage is properly formed. Results of such aesthetic plastic surgery are generally very good with negligible scarring, and an enhancement in the shape of the ears is visible within two weeks, although healing may continue for several months afterwards.
The laser method of the Myringotomy ear surgery can be performed in a doctor’s office with an ear numbing medication, but the vast majority of procedures are performed in a hospital with general anesthesia. It may be difficult to locate a doctor performing this procedure outside of a hospital as the laser equipment is enormously expensive. The eardrum, also called the tympanic membrane, ordinarily heals within two weeks or so of a Myringotomy unless a tube is inserted into the opening that was made or unless the opening is made with a laser. Depending on the design of the tube, a Myringotomy and tube procedure can allow external ventilation of the middle ear space for weeks, months or even years. Myringotomy with tube insertion is performed for the relief of otitis medium. Pressure equalization tubes, known as tympanostomy or Myringotomy tubes, are usually placed at the time of Myringotomy to stent the eardrum open.

The Forcast for Healthcare Management Jobs
January 30th, 2010As the U.S. population ages, healthcare management jobs are likely to increase greatly, both in number and in remuneration. This also includes careers in healthcare such as administration and allied health occupations in which business skills are more important than a medical degree.
According to the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), health care was the nation’s largest industry in 2004, providing 13.5 million jobs nationwide. About 411,000 of these health care workers were independent, self-employed professionals. 40% of the fastest growing occupations consist of careers in healthcare. Such healthcare management jobs include traditional fields such as nursing and physician’s assistant, but can also include medical secretaries and home and personal home health care aides.
Even if the U.S. finally joins the rest of the industrialized world by offering free, single-payer universal health care to all its citizens (by no means a foregone conclusion given the financial power of the insurance and pharmaceutical industries – but increasingly, a possibility with rising anger and frustration on the part of working Americans over a dysfunctional “for-profit” health care system), the job outlook should be unaffected. In fact, it is even likely to improve; contrary to corporate media propaganda, health care professionals in countries with socialized medicine enjoy a high standard of living and substantially greater job security as government employees than their U.S. counterparts.
Most healthcare management jobs are in hospitals (over 41%). Nursing homes and residential care facilities make up the second largest source of employment, with private medical and dental offices a close third.
